Project Planning--Phases and Status
A project of this scope involves many details, and careful planning is essential. We have mapped out various phases. Many are ongoing and overlap with other phases.
PHASE 1 - Complete
This initial step involved extensive planning and research. We developed a vision and core principles, conducted feasibility research, wrote a business plan, and did financial analysis and planning.
PHASE 2 - Complete
This step involved actually setting up a legal business, completing necessary legal and tax forms, opening a bank account, establishing legal and professional contacts, and many other details.
PHASE 3 - Complete
This step involves funding. Through various means, including crowdfunding and benevolent individuals, we raised initial funds to start and promote this project. While this phase is essentially complete, we are also looking for people (both physicians and non-physicians) who share our philosophy and core values and would like to invest in this project.
PHASE 4 - In progress
This phase involves recruitment of staff, consultants, and other partners. We have conducted informational meetings with stakeholders, including midwives, physicians, and other clinicians and are continuing to set up partnerships with area clinics and doctors and other clinicians. As needed, we will hire staff.
PHASE 5 - In progress
This phase involves IT, communications, security, and medical records. These elements are in final stages as we prepare to go live.
PHASE 6 - Complete
Supplies and equipment are the focus of this phase. We have purchased initial supplies and equipment; organizations and individuals have also donated some items. Of course, there is ongoing need for supplies and equipment, especially as we expand, but this phase is essentially complete.
PHASE 7 - Complete
We currently have office space where we can start our acute care clinic. While we hope to need to expand and need another facility, this phase is complete at this time.
PHASE 8- In progress
The step are are all waiting for--starting operations, going live! We are planning to start an acute care clinic soon. Stay tuned for developments.
